The Importance of Mental Health
The postponement of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games brought with it a vast array of emotions from the nation's top athletes - from disappointment to relief to sadness and heartbreak. One seasoned Olympian took time to speak with Hoda Kotb on the TODAY show about the effects that this decision stacked on the difficult circumstances everyone is experiencing will have on the mental well-being of athletes.
Having accrued 23 Olympic Gold Medals and suffering from mental health struggles himself, Michael Phelps certainly has valuable insight to share on this topic, and the mental well-being of the prospective Olympians is a foremost concern of his at this time.
